The Norwich Coast forms the northern border of Norfolk County stretching along the scenic North Sea. It is a mostly rural landscape that has been inhabited since before the Romans with numerous invasions over the centuries from Scandinavian and Northern European countries. It is a place of beaches, waterways, parks, wildlife reserves as well as the center of England's lavender production.
Small villages dot the landscape with Norwich the only city of any size. Sandringham, Her Majesty's holiday getaway castle, is one of the more famous attractions in the area.
